Who we are

Salineville Church of Christ was founded by 36 believers who met in the Free Presbyterian Church for the first time on February 4, 1856.  We are part of a fellowship of independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ who share a common desire to model ourselves after the first century Church described in the Book of Acts.   As such, we have no denomination, as we maintain there is only one Church, a body of believers throughout the world.  To put it simply, we are Christians only (not Baptists, or Pentecostals, or Catholics) but we do not claim to be the only Christians.   For more specifics on what we believe as a church, see here.  For a more in depth look into the history of what is known as the restoration movement, click here.

Today, we still meet in the building constructed back in 1908, but we are a church for 2021.  Take the time to get to know us better by visiting our page What to Expect at SCC.
